Store Services

 

We pride ourself on being the only full-service book store in Northwest Wyoming, providing a wide range of titles for adults and children, regional guides and history, maps, cookbooks, bibles, graphic novels, reference books, books for life's events (wedding albums, guest books, baby books, funeral guest books), and many journals and sketchbooks.   We also carry many beautiful and quality gifts, a variety of purses and book bags, Melissa & Doug toys, Made in Wyoming Gifts, locally crafted jewely, and more.

 

Looking for tickets or information for events in Cody or across the Big Horn Basin, Legends Bookstore is the ticket vendor for many events in the surrounding area.

We also offer special discount pricing for our educators in the Big Horn Basin School Districts.   Let us help you find the best resources for our young people, and help us keep our local dollars (including taxes) LOCAL.   

Gift Certificates

Gift certificates are available for purchase in-store or by phone, and are available in any amount.   We can have them waiting at the store for the recipient, or we are also happy to mail them for you (the postage is on us!).

 

You won't have to worry about keeping track of the certificate -- Legends maintains a records of every gift certificate within our computer system, and we can look it up by recipient name.

 

Gift certificates do not expire and can be used for any item in the store.

Frequent Buyer Program

We value loyalty and believe our local customers deserve a little something extra supporting us.   We've created a Frequent Buyer Program for our Big Horn Basin residents as a small "thank you" for shopping local.  For every $100 you spend on books, you'll earn a $5 credit toward your future purchases.   While we'll give you a "coupon" to reflect your purchasing status, our system will keep track of it so that you don't have to worry about losing a piece of paper in your purse or wallet.   

 

It's easy to sign-up -- we ask for your name, phone and email address-- that's it!    

Complimentary Gift Wrapping

We want Legends to be a one-stop solution for all your gift-giving. We offer complimentary gift wrapping year-round.   We can also make local deliveries to the hospital, long term care center, schools, or businesses.  

 

We also carry a variety of gift bags and have a fun selection of greeting cards and gift enclosures.

 

Special and Pre-Orders

While we have thousands of titles in the store, there are times that we don't have what you need right on the shelf.   We are happy to Special Order books for our customers.  Here are some things to know about special orders:

  • We order from several national and regional distributors, so if it's in print it's very likely we can get it for you. 

  • Special orders usually come with our normal store order, so there are typically no shipping charges (some exceptions apply).

  • Books typically will arrive in the store in 3-5 business days and we'll call you to let you know they have arrived.

  • We're happy to place pre-orders for books that aren't out yet.   Let us know who your favorite authors are and we'll watch for their releases.

  • We normally request full payment at time order is placed.

Coffee & Tea Bar

A bookstore just isn't complete without a cafe offering a steaming cup of craft coffee or a refreshing glass of specialty iced tea.   Our Chaps Cafe was created to make sure that your time in our store is as pleasant and relaxing as possible.  We encourage you to grab a beverage, a book or magazine, and take a few minutes just for yourself.

 

We offer locally roasted Cody Coffee Roaster coffee and source our tea through Montana Tea and Spice.   Local is always best!!!
